An Award Winning Trip to Film Invasion LA

I attended this year's Film Invasion LA in support of my feature-length screenplay, Pace. It was a great experience with some really fantastic films. The trip was capped off by the revelation that I had won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Unproduced Screenplay. Definitely an unforgettable moment.

Feature Screenplay Selected to the Houston Comedy Film Festival

HCFF_2018_Official_Selection_Laurel_Black.jpg

I'm very happy to share that my feature length screenplay, Pace, is an official selection of the 2018 Houston Comedy Film Festival.

"Questions of self, purpose, and expectations plague Doug and Laci as they cope with the relentless pace of coming of age while closing in on thirty."

Pace is a story about varying reactions to the specter of change that hangs over your late twenties. What am I doing? What do I want? What am I supposed to be?

Have I found myself as someone or somewhere I don't want to be and crave something different? Or do I resist change as an innate form of loss aversion?

This story is inspired by my own experiences, observations, and conversations told through the lens of imperfect people facing imperfect expectations.
