what are the pro’s and con’s of the 950 mAh and the 1400 mAh?

Are you comparing batteries from the same manufacturer? That makes a difference.

If manufacturer is the same the 1400mah battery will allow you to take more photos per charge. Theoretically about 50% more. For example if the 950mah gets 300 shots per charge the 1400mah battery would get 450 shots per charge.

If the 950mah battery is a respected name brand and the 1400mah battery is one of the cheap imports from Ebay you may not see such an improvement.
