I need a camera (fairly cheap) that will take when you press the button, is this the one ? + on other cameras, how do you know if it takes on the ball, or doesnt it say ? x
Well virtually all cameras have some form or other of shutter lag. Generally compact cameras appear to have much more lag because metering and autofocus systems aren’t as advanced. Another reason for compact cameras having lag is that they generally use a CCD sensor as opposed to CMOS, but CCD tech has really come forward in the last couple of years to the point there is little (still some though) difference.
So there you go unless you have complete manual control over the camera there will always be pseudo-shutter lag. The trick of losing the AF/AE time (with ANY CAMERA) is to ready the camera before the shot. Make sure that you have pressed the shutter button halfway so the camera is focused and metered properly, then there is no lag.
So there you go, its technique that speeds up the photo taking, not the camera. But nonetheless I wouldn’t recommend the camera you’ve linked. Too many megapixels, crammed onto a space less than your fingernail, without a good lens is useless. Look for 6-8 megapixels and a good lens. Try Panasonic-Leica, Sony-Zeiss, Canon and Nikon.
